Test

We took a test on the story we have been reading the past couple days. The test was on illuminate with 20 questions. The questions were pretty easy I thought as I was going through them. The story we took a test on is called A rose for Emily. I didn’t do well on the test but the story was good.

A rose for Emily

Today we finished the story of A rose for Emily on ComminLit along with some discussion questions. We read the story as a class and discussed some key points. The story took a turn in the end for what I thought it was going to be about. The story was a very twisted read but also interesting. At the end of class we watched a short film on the story that brought it all together.

Tuesday

 Ap exam testing.

A rose for Emily

Today in class we read the first part of the story called A rose for Emily. The story started off with a depressing tone of her funeral. We read the poem as a class by spinning the wheel to popcorn read. The story seems interesting so far and I would like to see the author reveal more about the main character. I then started my discussion questions that I will have to submit after I finish them.

The Great Figure

In class we read a poem called The Great Figure. We read the poem as a class then had to draw a picture of the images we saw in the poem while reading. I drew a picture of a red fire truck with sirens, beaming lights, the number five on it, and big wheels. I then answered questions about the poem as well. The poem had lots of imagery and created a mysterious atmosphere.

Visual poem

In class we completed visual poems. First we had to find an image to base our poems off so I chose a Hawaii beach picture off google. I chose this picture because I love going to the beach and watching the waves hit the shore. My poem was about beach waves and the important elements that make it up. I highlighted elements that are not usually talked about as much that I think should be. I think my poem came out pretty good in the end.
